That’s strange Mark J Horowitz. It plays in my post!

It’s like dancing sculpture. Bravo!

Absolutely Jim Preis. Dance has always seemed to me to be like sculpture, like architecture, like painting with the body. If it were “catchable” like a painting, more people would be exposed to it. It’s so ephemeral dance. And it is virtually impossible to get videos of it online, at least of choreographers like Pina Bausch or even companies like the National Dance Company of Wales. It’s just tough…

Yes, I am Mark J Horowitz. I don’t know what everyone else here is using.

Whew! Mark J Horowitz. You had me worried for a minute there…

Matthew Graybosch particularly delighted that you are sharing it. 😉

The Martial Arts and dance are not mutually exclusive Matthew Graybosch. In fact I would say they are quite harmonious and possibly downright respectful of one another.

Of course I don’t mind jyothi sriram. All the better for Jenni Wren. Thank you for taking the time to watch it. I think it will stick with you and you will come back and watch it again. At least I have.

Zelina Cruz…you are welcome! I’m so glad it is getting the response I had hoped for. Obviously posting something like this comes with its challenges. I think it is quite difficult to capture as perfectly as Ms. Wren did, the essence of this kind of physical and emotional collaboration. Hats off to the cinematographer as well.

Lovely video. I couldn’t get my eyes off every motion they make. It’s beautiful and artistic sensuality.
June 10, 2013 at 4:31 am
I enjoyed the choreography and concept. I wasn’t crazy about the video editing. Distracted a bit from the actual dance. Still very cool overall.

My first experience with something like this, I’ve never really taken much interest in ballet but I found this to be quite sensual and intimate without being overly erotic or crude. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you.

Beautiful!

The way love should be expressed; physically, mutually beautifully! Bravo !

Michael McConnell I think I know what you mean. Although I have no way of knowing, I assumed the filming technique was designed to in fact take a little focus off the dance, not only to intersplice the dancers clothed/unclothed, but so that the focus was not entirely on their nakedness, but also on the music, the movement, the gestures…the mood. But that’s just my take.

Giselle Minoli, for me what it disrupted was the actual flow of the dance. That editing style works well for condensing long numbers to a few salient moves but in this longer case wasn’t my favorite technique. The dance itself was excellently choreographed and in particular I liked the intertwining of lifts and especially that it wasn’t just the male.
June 10, 2013 at 2:32 pm
All of the above. Success is a journey not a destination but in this case the end justifies the means. 🙂
June 10, 2013 at 2:43 pm
I like that the lifts were equally male and female myself Michael McConnell. It made it all the more powerful for me, more harmonious, more balanced, and much more unpredictable in that I didn’t know where it would ultimately end up.
