Red, Yellow and Blue
Rope Art, by Orly Genger
Sublime, and many other things…
Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone…
P.S. In case you are interested, here is a link to a New York Times article on this inventive artist. I wish you could see this installation in person…the primary colors…the Blue and Red I took in the sunshine, the Yellow when it was raining…are so vibrant and alive. Truly beautiful.

reminds me vaguely of Christo 🙂

To me, pio dal cin, this is more organic and less intellectual. Simpler, in a way, and perhaps more accessible. You can actually walk around it, up to it, see the texture, touch it. Christo’s Gates in New York I loved…but it felt like a dream…all those flags blowing in the wind as you walked under them. It was also freezing cold. Madison Square Park is so much smaller and more intimate.
Did the Christos do something in Italy? I should know…but I don’t. I love their work….

Giselle Minoli
I had the great pleasure of meeting the Christos back in 1982 in Miami for this (http://goo.gl/HZFAF) Surrounded Island Project. I followed Christo’s work for five days as he and his wife Jean Claude worked on this wonderful project. It just blew and opened my mind. I don’t know of any work in Italy, but I will make a search and let you know:)

Grazie pio dal cin…adesso ricordo. Still my favorite work of his is the Surrounded Island and the Umbrellas and the Valley Curtain. Amazing…

It’s cold Meg Tufano. And rainy…and a washout weekend for those who were planning on beach weather. Hurray for Park Art in such cases!

I miss NYC’s creative flair, whatever the weather is. You expect the unexpected. On demand random entertainment.

Alive and kicking.

I’ll say Dieter Heyer. I took a video on my iPhone, which I almost posted, of two little boys running around the inside rim of the Red rope installation, but since there is no way on G+ to post both a video and photos I opted for this trio. Besides, while the little boys were having so much fun, the video was marred by the presence of three No Climbing signs. Sigh. We always have to be warned about something don’t we?

Greetings Erik Barrett. Glad you like it. I don’t know which is more amazing, the woman who makes the art, or the art that she makes that we get to enjoy.
